Here is a recipe for making momos

Momos are delicious little ravioli of Tibetan origin, often stuffed with meat or vegetables and steamed. Here is a recipe for making momos:

  Ingredients :

For the dough:

- 250g of flour

- A pinch of salt

- About 150ml of lukewarm water

For garnish :

- 250g of ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, or tofu for a vegetarian option)

- 1 medium onion, finely chopped

- 2 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 carrot, grated

- 1 handful of Chinese cabbage, finely chopped

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Optional: spices such as ginger, cumin, or chili powder depending on preferences

Instructions :

1. **Prepare the dough:**

    - In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the lukewarm water while kneading until you obtain a smooth and elastic dough.

    - Cover the dough and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

2. **Prepare the filling:**

    - In another bowl, mix the ground meat (or crumbled tofu) with the onion, garlic, carrot, cabbage, and spices of your choice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. **Train the momos:**

    - Divide the dough into small balls the size of a walnut.

    - On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle approximately 10 cm in diameter.

    - Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each circle of dough.

4. **Fold the momos:**

    - Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon.

-Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal the momos. You can fold the edges to create decorative creases if you like.

5. **Steam:**

    - Arrange the momos on a lightly greased baking basket or lined with parchment paper.

    - Heat water in a steamer. Once the water is boiling, place the cooking basket with the momos on top of the water.

    - Cover the steamer and let the momos cook for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the dough is cooked and the filling is cooked through.

6. **Serve:**

    - Serve the momos hot with a dipping sauce such as spicy soy sauce, chili sauce, or peanut sauce.

Momos are delicious as a starter or even as a main dish with a salad. Have fun preparing them!
